US Housing Starts Rebound on Multifamily Construction
Housing starts in the US surged in June after a sharp drop a month earlier, driven by a rebound in apartment construction.
New residential construction increased 19% last month to an annualized rate of 1.43 million, the highest since March, government data released Friday showed.

ECB Set to Wait for September to Hike One Last Time, Poll Shows
The European Central Bank will probably pause to assess inflation next week before delivering a final interest-rate hike in September, economists say.
All respondents in a Bloomberg survey predict no change in borrowing costs next Thursday. Most of them then anticipate a quarter-point increase in the deposit rate to 2.5% in September, when policymakers will have new quarterly forecasts.

BOJ Is Said Likely to Raise Growth Forecast, Stand Pat
The Bank of Japan is likely to consider raising its economic growth forecast at its July meeting while leaving the policy rate unchanged after last month hiking it to the highest level since 1995, according to people familiar with the matter.
The central bank will probably discuss raising its growth forecast from the current projection of 0.5% for the year ending next March in its quarterly outlook report, the people said, noting that global demand tied to artificial intelligence has helped keep Japan’s economy resilient.
