Unaudited financials for the six months ended June 30, 2026:
GraceKennedy Limited (GK) for the six months ended June 30, 2026, reported revenues of J$93.09 billion, representing an increase of 5% compared to J$89.02 billion in the corresponding period last year. Revenues for the second quarter grew by 2% to J$45.61 billion versus J$44.80 billion for the comparable quarter of 2025.
Expenses amounted to J$88.73 billion (2025: J$85.55 billion), reflecting a 4% year-over-year increase. Consequently, profit before other income rose by 26% to J$4.36 billion compared to J$3.46 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2025. For the second quarter, profit before other income was J$1.97 billion, up from J$1.67 billion in the similar quarter of 2025.
Other income rose by 20% to J$2.96 billion (2025: J$2.48 billion). As a result, profit from operations increased by 23%, moving from J$5.94 billion in 2025 to J$7.33 billion in 2026.
Interest income – non-financial services decreased by 6% to J$429.52 million (2025: J$457.27 million), while interest expense – non-financial services amounted to J$1.03 billion, broadly in line with J$1.03 billion in 2025. Share of results of associates and joint ventures declined 43% to J$422.07 million compared to J$737.31 million last year.
Profit Before Taxation totalled J$7.14 billion, a 17% increase over the prior year.
Taxation for the six months ended June 30, 2026, was J$2.21 billion, up 32% from J$1.68 billion in 2025. Consequently, Net Profit for the period rose by 11% to J$4.93 billion (2025: J$4.43 billion).
Net profit attributable to shareholders amounted to J$4.75 billion, a 12% increase from J$4.25 billion reported in 2025. For the second quarter, net profit attributable to shareholders was J$2.39 billion (2025: J$2.03 billion).
Consequently, Earnings Per Share for the six months amounted to $4.80 (2025: EPS: $4.30), while Earnings Per Share for the quarter totalled $2.42 (2025: EPS: $2.05). The twelve-month trailing EPS was $7.47, and the number of shares used in these calculations was 988,941,759.
Notably, GK’s stock price closed the trading period on July 29, 2026, at a price of $72.85 with a corresponding P/E ratio of 9.75x.
Balance Sheet Highlights
The company’s assets totalled $288.99 billion (2025: $253.50 billion). The growth in total assets was mainly due to increases in receivables, cash and deposits, loans receivable, and inventories. Receivables climbed by J$12.08 billion or 47% to J$37.92 billion (2025: J$25.84 billion), cash and deposits rose by J$8.73 billion or 35% to J$33.62 billion (2025: J$24.89 billion), loans receivable increased by J$7.15 billion or 15% to J$56.25 billion (2025: J$49.10 billion), and inventories grew by J$2.73 billion or 11% to J$27.73 billion (2025: J$25.00 billion). Investments in associates and joint ventures declined by J$2.12 billion or 29% to J$5.31 billion (2025: J$7.43 billion), reflecting the reclassification of Dairy Industries (Jamaica) Limited from an equity-accounted holding to a consolidated subsidiary following GK’s acquisition of the remaining 50% interest in January 2026.
Shareholders’ equity was $94.95 billion (2025: $91.16 billion), representing a book value per share of $96.01 (2025: $92.18).
