PAL reports twelve months net loss of $0.486 million

The Palace Amusement Company (1921) Limited (PAL) for the twelve months ended June 30, 2026 reported a 27% decrease in Revenue totaling $961.60 million compared to $1.32 billion in the corresponding period last year. Revenue for the fourth quarter had a 35% decrease to close at $245.93 million compared to $377.55 million for the comparable quarter of 2025.

Direct expenses amounted to $952.90 million (2025: $1.22 billion), this represents a decrease of 22% year over year. Consequently, gross profit decreased by 92% to $8.70 million compared to $103.93 million for the twelve months ended June 30, 2025. The company booked gross profit of $10.73 million for the fourth quarter versus $53.48 million reported for the similar quarter of 2025.

Administration expenses decreased by 16% to close at $215.07 million (2025: $256.82 million), while Other operating income increased substantially to $247.71 million from $4.48 million in the period under review, driven by a $229.27 million insurance claim relating to Hurricane Melissa. As a result, operating profit for the twelve months ended June 30, 2026 amounted to $41.34 million (2025: operating loss of $148.40 million).

Finance costs for the twelve months ended June 30, 2026, amounted to $41.83 million, a 2% decrease relative to $42.87 million reported in 2025. Loss Before taxation totaled $0.486 million, a significant improvement from the corresponding period last year (2025: loss before taxation of $191.27 million).

No tax charge was incurred for the twelve months ended June 30, 2026 (2025: tax credit of $44.32 million).

Net Loss for the twelve months ended June 30, 2026 amounted to $0.486 million, a significant improvement from the net loss of $146.95 million in the prior year. Net Loss attributable to stockholders of the company for the twelve months amounted to $0.381 million, compared to a loss of $147.80 million reported in 2025. For the fourth quarter, Net Profit attributable to stockholders of the company was $5.75 million (2025: $17.26 million).

Consequently, Loss Per Share for the twelve months amounted to $0.00 (2025: LPS: $0.17), while Earnings Per Share for the quarter totaled $0.01 (2025: EPS: $0.02). The twelve-month trailing LPS was $0.00, and the number of shares used in these calculations was 862,216,800.

Notably, PAL’s stock price closed the trading period on August 13, 2026, at a price of $0.60.

Balance Sheet Highlights

The company’s assets totaled $1.98 billion (2025: $2.05 billion). The movement in total assets was primarily attributable to a 4% decline in ‘Property, plant and equipment’ amounting to $1.43 billion (2025: $1.49 billion) and a 31% decline in ‘Right-of-use assets’ amounting to $33.30 million (2025: $48.58 million), together with a 29% decline in Cash and cash equivalents to $111.63 million (2025: $157.04 million); these were partly offset by a 130% increase in Receivables to $70.54 million (2025: $30.73 million).

Shareholder’s equity was $898.20 million (2025: $898.58 million), representing a book value per share of $1.04 (2025: $1.04).
