US Small-Business Optimism Falls on Dimmer Economic Outlook
US small-business optimism fell to a three-month low in September as economic expectations dimmed and a smaller share of firms indicated it was a good time to expand.
The National Federation of Independent Business index slipped 0.8 point to 97.9, according to data out Tuesday. Six of the 10 components that make up the gauge declined, while three rose and one held steady.

IMF Urges Caution on Cost of Living Support Before UK Budget
UK Chancellor of the Exchequer John Healey has received a warning from the International Monetary Fund ahead of his budget this month: use cost-of-living support “sparingly” or risk reigniting inflation.
In its World Economic Outlook published Tuesday, the global watchdog said debt-burdened countries like the UK should restrict any relief to “targeted and temporary” measures that do not make the job of taming prices more difficult.

Japan’s Producer Prices Cools, Indicating Room for BOJ to Wait
The growth of corporate goods prices in Japan eased again while staying at elevated levels, indicating that inflationary pressure from input costs may have peaked for now and suggesting less urgency for the Bank of Japan to raise interest rates after last month’s hike.
The measure of input prices for Japanese firms climbed 6.8% in September from a year earlier, slowing from 7.6% in the previous month, the BOJ reported Tuesday.
