CPJ Reports Six Months Net Loss Attr. To Shareholders of US$1.51 million

Caribbean Producers (Jamaica) Limited (CPJ) for the six months ended June 30, 2026 reported a 27% decrease in Revenue totalling US$64.47 million compared to US$88.37 million in the corresponding period last year. Revenue for the second quarter declined by 26% to US$31.33 million compared to US$42.40 million for the comparable quarter of 2025. Management noted that the decline was mainly driven by a 34% reduction in Jamaica sales, as the lingering impact of Hurricane Melissa continued to affect the tourism and hospitality sector.

Direct Expenses amounted to US$47.93 million (2025: US$64.20 million), representing a decrease of 25% year over year. Consequently, Gross Profit decreased by 32% to US$16.54 million compared to US$24.17 million for the six months ended June 30, 2025. Gross Profit for the second quarter amounted to US$8.00 million, compared to US$11.50 million reported for the corresponding quarter of 2025. Gross margin declined to 25.7% from 27.4%, reflecting lower operating volumes, reduced absorption of fixed manufacturing and logistics costs, and higher costs associated with repairs, utilities and supply chain disruptions.

Finance and Other Operating Income increased by 119% to US$88,390 from US$40,386 in 2025. Administration and Other Operating Expenses increased by 2% to US$18.19 million from US$17.89 million in the prior year, despite elevated input costs and ongoing repair-related expenses. The Group also recorded a Net Impairment Gain on Trade Receivables of US$1.07 million, compared to a net impairment loss of US$97,982 in 2025.

Despite the impairment gain, the Group recorded an Operating Loss of US$494,815 for the six months ended June 30, 2026, compared to Operating Profit of US$6.22 million in 2025. For the second quarter, the Group recorded an Operating Loss of US$149,868, compared to Operating Profit of US$2.74 million in the corresponding quarter of 2025.

Finance Costs decreased by 10% to US$1.60 million from US$1.79 million in the prior year. As a result, Loss Before Taxation amounted to US$2.10 million, compared to Profit Before Taxation of US$4.44 million in 2025. For the second quarter, Loss Before Taxation amounted to US$929,509, compared to Profit Before Taxation of US$1.99 million in the corresponding quarter of 2025.

The Group recorded a Taxation Credit of US$456,143 for the six months ended June 30, 2026, compared to a Taxation Charge of US$1.14 million in 2025. Consequently, Net Loss for the six months amounted to US$1.64 million, compared to Net Profit of US$3.29 million in the prior year. For the second quarter, the Group recorded a Net Loss of US$473,366, compared to Net Profit of US$1.49 million in the corresponding quarter of 2025.

Net Loss Attributable to Stockholders of the Company amounted to US$1.51 million, compared to Net Profit Attributable to Stockholders of US$3.26 million in 2025. For the second quarter, Net Loss Attributable to Stockholders amounted to US$394,102, compared to Net Profit Attributable to Stockholders of US$1.50 million in the prior year’s quarter.

Consequently, Loss Per Stock Unit for the six months amounted to US$0.0014, or approximately J$0.22 compared to Earnings Per Stock Unit of US$0.0030, or approximately J$0.48 using the 2025 exchange rate of J$160.820. Loss Per Stock Unit for the second quarter amounted to US$0.0004, or approximately J$0.06, compared to Earnings Per Stock Unit of US$0.0014, or approximately J$0.23, for the corresponding quarter of 2025. The twelve-month trailing EPS was approximately US$0.005, or approximately J$0.79, and the number of shares used in these calculations was 1,100,000,000.

Notably, CPJ’s stock price closed the trading period on August 17, 2026 at J$5.16, with a corresponding P/E ratio of approximately 6.11x.

Balance Sheet Highlights

The Group’s Total Assets amounted to US$106.18 million at June 30, 2026, representing a 1% decrease from US$107.72 million in 2025. The decrease was mainly driven by Inventories, which fell to US$37.86 million from US$46.15 million, as well as lower Property, Plant and Equipment, which declined to US$13.88 million from US$17.07 million. Right-of-Use Assets also decreased to US$11.10 million from US$13.17 million.

Shareholders’ Equity increased to US$47.14 million from US$41.49 million in 2025, representing a book value per share of approximately US$0.043, or J$6.80 compared to US$0.038, or J$6.11.
