DTL Reports 2% Increase in Six Months Net Loss Attr. to Shareholders

Unaudited financials for the six months ended June 30, 2026:

Derrimon Trading Ltd (DTL) for the six months ended June 30, 2026 reported a 33% decrease in Trading Income, totalling $5.68 billion compared to $8.51 billion in the corresponding period last year. For the second quarter, Trading Income declined by 35% to $2.72 billion compared to $4.21 billion for the comparable quarter of 2025. It should be noted that the June 2025 comparative figures were restated by the company.

Cost of Sales amounted to $4.10 billion (2025: $6.77 billion), representing a 39% decrease year over year. Consequently, Gross Profit decreased by 9% to $1.58 billion compared to $1.74 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2025. Gross Profit for the second quarter amounted to $632.07 million, compared to $1.31 billion reported for the similar quarter of 2025.

Administrative Expenses decreased by 9% to $1.38 billion (2025: $1.52 billion), while Selling and Distribution Expenses decreased by 17% to $378.41 million from $453.82 million in the prior year. As a result, Total Operating Expenses for the six months ended June 30, 2026 amounted to $1.75 billion, representing an 11% decrease relative to $1.97 billion reported in 2025.

Despite the reduction in operating expenses, the Group recorded an Operating Loss before Finance Costs of $26.82 million for the six months ended June 30, 2026, compared to an Operating Profit of $14.09 million reported in 2025. For the second quarter, the Group recorded an Operating Loss before Finance Costs of $67.86 million, compared to an Operating Profit of $454.02 million in the corresponding quarter of 2025. Finance Costs decreased by 10% to $386.86 million from $427.66 million in the prior year.

Loss Before Taxation for the six months ended June 30, 2026 amounted to $413.68 million, broadly in line with the loss of $413.57 million reported in 2025. For the second quarter, the Group recorded a Loss Before Taxation of $260.19 million, compared to Profit Before Taxation of $202.00 million in the corresponding quarter of 2025.

Taxation decreased by 15% to $28.77 million compared to $33.82 million in 2025. Net Loss Attributable to Shareholders of the Company amounted to $486.70 million, representing a 2% wider loss than the $477.63 million reported in 2025. For the second quarter, Net Loss Attributable to Shareholders of the Company amounted to $295.42 million, compared to Net Profit Attributable to Shareholders of $162.58 million in the prior year’s quarter.

Consequently, Loss Per Share for the six months amounted to $0.11, broadly in line with the Loss Per Share of $0.11 reported in 2025, while Loss Per Share for the second quarter amounted to $0.07 compared to Earnings Per Share of $0.04 for the corresponding quarter of 2025. The twelve-month trailing Loss Per Share was $0.54, and the number of shares used in these calculations was 4,533,360,670.

Notably, DTL’s stock price closed the trading period on August 14, 2026 at $0.96.

Balance Sheet Highlights

The company’s Total Assets amounted to $16.16 billion (2025: $15.23 billion). The increase in total assets was driven primarily by Deferred Tax Assets, which rose to $1.02 billion from $260.31 million, reflecting the recognition of tax benefits on the Group’s accumulated losses. Receivables and Prepayments also increased to $3.86 billion from $3.28 billion, while Inventories rose to $2.24 billion from $1.81 billion.

Shareholders’ Equity was $1.63 billion (2025: $3.80 billion), representing a book value per share of $0.36 compared to $0.84 in the prior year.
