JAMT Reports Q1 Net Profit Attributable to Shareholders of $3.45 Million

Unaudited financials for the first quarter ended December 31, 2025:

Jamaica Teas Limited (JAMT) for the first quarter ended December 31, 2025, reported a 4% decrease in operating revenues totalling $876.51 million compared to $913.53 million in the corresponding three months last year.

Cost of goods sold amounted to $718.28 million (2024: $727.01 million), representing a 1% decrease year over year. Consequently, gross profit decreased by 15% to $158.23 million compared to $186.52 million for the first quarter ended December 31, 2024.

Investment loss for the quarter amounted to $19.29 million (2024: investment income of $30.34 million). Other income decreased by 72% to $456,633 (2024: $1.62 million).

Sales and marketing costs decreased by 36% from $15.78 million in 2024 to $10.13 million for the three months period under review. However, administrative expenses for the first quarter amounted to $141.97 million, a 30% increase relative to $108.97 million reported in 2024.

Finance costs for the three months amounted to $13.20 million, a 9% decrease relative to $14.48 million reported in 2024.

Loss before taxation totalled $25.90 million, compared to a profit before taxation of $79.25 million in the corresponding period last year.

Taxation for the first quarter ended December 31, 2025, amounted to a tax credit of $4.23 million, compared to a tax charge of $14.16 million in 2024.

Net loss for the three months amounted to $21.67 million (2024: net profit of $65.09 million).

Net profit attributable to shareholders (owners of Jamaica Teas Limited) for the three months amounted to $3.45 million, a 93% decrease from the $52.80 million reported in 2024.

Consequently, earnings per share for the three months amounted to $0.16 cents, compared to $2.40 cents in 2024, based on net profit attributable to shareholders (Owners of Jamaica Teas Limited). The twelve-month trailing EPS was $0.08, and the number of shares used in these calculations was 2,179,680,377.

Notably, JAMT’s stock price closed the trading period on February 19, 2026, at $2.28, with a corresponding P/E ratio of 28.08x.

Balance Sheet Highlights

The company’s assets totalled $5.58 billion (2024: $5.42 billion). This increase in total assets was attributable to inventories which amounted to $756.09 million (2024: $548.90 million)

Shareholders’ equity was $3.39 billion (2024: $3.19 billion), representing a book value per share of $1.56 (2024: $1.47).
