Unaudited financials for the six months ended June 30, 2026:
Jamaica Producers Group Limited (JP) for the six months ended June 30, 2026, reported a 20% decrease in Total Income, amounting to $83.68 million compared to $104.28 million in the corresponding period last year. Rental Income increased by 8% to $66.20 million compared to $61.41 million in 2025, while Net Investment Income declined by 59% to $17.48 million compared to $42.87 million in the prior year. For the second quarter, Total Income increased by 13% to $43.67 million compared to $38.56 million in the corresponding quarter of 2025.
Administrative and Other Operating Expenses decreased by 9% to $113.03 million compared to $124.84 million in 2025. As a result, the company reported a Loss from Operations of $29.34 million, compared to a Loss from Operations of $20.56 million in the corresponding period last year. For the second quarter, the Loss from Operations narrowed to $15.93 million compared to $23.72 million in 2025.
Share of Profits in Associate amounted to $510.59 million, representing a 60% decrease relative to $1.28 billion reported in 2025. Management noted that the reduction in earnings was due principally to lower earnings from the Group’s 34.7% investment in Pan Jamaica Group Limited, which was impacted by Hurricane Melissa, financial and commodity market movements, foreign exchange losses and higher fuel costs in certain operating subsidiaries.
Profit Before Finance Cost and Taxation for the six months ended June 30, 2026 amounted to $481.24 million, representing a 62% decrease relative to $1.26 billion reported in 2025. For the second quarter, Profit Before Finance Cost and Taxation amounted to $325.92 million, compared to $673.37 million in the corresponding quarter of 2025.
Finance Cost totalled $12.63 million, representing a 31% increase from $9.67 million in the prior year. Profit Before Taxation for the six months amounted to $468.62 million, representing a 63% decrease relative to $1.25 billion reported in 2025. For the second quarter, Profit Before Taxation amounted to $318.08 million, compared to $668.90 million in the corresponding quarter of 2025.
Taxation amounted to a charge of $3.13 million compared to a tax credit of $2.33 million in the prior year. Consequently, Net Profit for the six months ended June 30, 2026 amounted to $465.49 million, representing a 63% decrease from $1.25 billion reported in 2025. For the second quarter, Net Profit amounted to $316.52 million, compared to $667.08 million in the corresponding quarter of 2025.
Total Comprehensive Income for the six months amounted to $484.09 million, compared to $1.90 billion in 2025. For the second quarter, Total Comprehensive Income amounted to $436.03 million, compared to $1.05 billion in the prior year’s quarter.
Consequently, Diluted Earnings Per Share for the six months amounted to $0.41, compared to $1.12 in 2025. Basic Earnings Per Share for the six months amounted to $0.45, compared to $1.20 in 2025. For the second quarter, Diluted Earnings Per Share amounted to $0.28 compared to $0.59 in the corresponding quarter of 2025. The twelve-month trailing EPS was $2.27, and the number of shares used in these calculations was 1,122,144,036.
Notably, JP’s stock price closed the trading period on August 14, 2026, at a price of $21.82 with a corresponding P/E ratio of 9.63x.
Balance Sheet Highlights
The Group’s Total Assets amounted to $41.54 billion at June 30, 2026, representing a 4% increase from $39.77 billion in 2025. The increase was mainly driven by Interest in Associate, which rose to $37.70 billion from $36.70 billion, as well as Investment Property, which increased to $2.51 billion from $1.86 billion. Short-Term Investments also increased to $722.14 million from $483.92 million, while Cash and Cash Equivalents rose to $68.73 million from $43.54 million.
Total Equity Attributable to Equity Holders of the Parent increased to $40.52 billion from $39.99 billion in 2025, representing a book value per share of approximately $36.11 (2025: $35.01).
