Audited financials for the twelve months ended March 31, 2026:
RADIO JAMAICA LIMITED (RJR) for the twelve months ended March 31, 2026 reported a 12% decrease in Revenue totaling $4.65 billion compared to $5.31 billion in the corresponding period last year.
Direct expenses amounted to $2.71 billion (2025: $2.99 billion), representing a 9% decrease year over year. Consequently, gross profit declined by 16% to $1.95 billion compared to $2.32 billion for the twelve months ended March 31, 2025.
Other operating income increased significantly to $228.59 million (2025: $91.37 million). Meanwhile, Selling expenses decreased by 16% from $599.54 million in 2025 to $503.23 million, while Administrative expenses declined by 7% to $1.16 billion (2025: $1.25 billion). Depreciation and amortisation expenses decreased by 6% to $379.61 million (2025: $405.75 million), while Other operating expenses fell by 3% to $797.60 million (2025: $819.34 million). The company also recorded an impairment loss on financial assets of $97.60 million, compared to an impairment reversal of $137.26 million in 2025.
As a result, Operating Loss for the twelve months ended March 31, 2026 amounted to $761.37 million, a 46% increase relative to the $521.86 million reported in 2025.
Net Finance Costs totaled $113.53 million, a 37% increase from the corresponding period last year (2025: $83.14 million). The company also reported a share of net loss from associates of $3.04 million (2025: $4.63 million) and a share of net loss from joint venture of $23.59 million, while no impairment charge on equity-accounted associates was recorded during the year compared to $54.10 million in 2025.
Loss before taxation for the twelve months ended March 31, 2026 amounted to $901.53 million, a 36% increase relative to $663.72 million reported in 2025.
The tax charge incurred for the twelve months ended March 31, 2026 amounted to $5.64 million (2025: $2.23 million). Net Loss for the twelve months amounted to $907.18 million, a 36% increase from the $665.95 million reported in 2025.
Consequently, Loss Per Share for the twelve months amounted to $0.30 (2025: LPS $0.22). The twelve-month trailing LPS was $0.30 and the number of shares used in these calculations was 3,023,506,931.
Notably, RJR’s stock price closed trading on August 27, 2026 at $1.11.
Balance Sheet Highlights
The company’s assets totaled $5.10 billion (2025: $5.58 billion), representing a 9% decline year over year. The movement in total assets was primarily driven by a 65% decrease in Investment Properties to $100.00 million (2025: $287.40 million), an 9% decline in Property, Plant and Equipment to $2.85 billion (2025: $3.13 billion), and a 15% reduction in Intangible Assets to $297.91 million (2025: $351.44 million). These declines were partially offset by a 4% increase in Receivables to $936.55 million (2025: $902.62 million) and the recognition of an Investment in Joint Venture totaling $54.25 million.
Shareholders’ equity attributable to owners of the parent totaled $2.51 billion (2025: $3.37 billion), reflecting a 26% decline year over year. This translated to a book value per share of $0.83 based on the 3,023,506,931 shares outstanding, compared to $1.12 in the prior year.
