Caribbean Cement Company Ltd (CCC)
Unaudited financials for the nine months ended September 30, 2026:
Caribbean Cement Company Ltd (CCC), for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, reported a 13% increase in revenues to $27.46 billion, compared to $24.40 billion in the corresponding period last year. Revenues for the third quarter rose 10% to $8.89 billion, compared to $8.07 billion for the comparable quarter of 2025. The Company said the growth reflected sustained demand for its products and its continued leadership in the Jamaican cement market.
Cost of sales amounted to $15.37 billion (2025: $15.02 billion), a 2% increase year over year. Gross profit therefore rose 29% to $12.09 billion, compared to $9.39 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2025. This puts the gross profit margin at 44.0%, up from 38.5% in the prior year. Third-quarter gross profit fell 31% to $2.78 billion, compared with $4.05 billion in the comparable quarter of 2025, because cost of sales for the quarter jumped 52% to $6.12 billion (2025: $4.02 billion). The Company attributed the higher quarterly costs to its planned annual maintenance shutdown, which drove up consumption of raw materials and consumables, hired manpower, repairs and maintenance expenses, and changes in inventories of finished goods and work in progress.
Total operating expenses rose 7% to $2.57 billion (2025: $2.39 billion). The increase came mainly from distribution and logistics expenses, which climbed 21% to $1.51 billion (2025: $1.25 billion) on higher sales volumes. These were partly offset by lower administrative expenses of $916.26 million (2025: $977.14 million) and lower selling expenses of $146.64 million (2025: $169.55 million). As a result, operating earnings before other income and expenses rose 36% to $9.52 billion, compared to $6.99 billion in 2025.
Other expenses for the nine months amounted to $1.09 billion, 24% more than the $876.06 million reported in 2025. Royalty and service fees were the main driver, rising to $792.26 million (2025: $594.33 million). Other income fell 89% to $21.83 million (2025: $203.38 million), since the prior-year period included insurance claim recoveries of about $197 million that did not recur.
Operating earnings for the nine months therefore came to $8.46 billion, up 34% from $6.32 billion in 2025. Third-quarter operating earnings were $1.47 billion (2025: $3.20 billion), a 54% decline. The Company said the quarter’s results were weighed down by the planned annual kiln maintenance, higher fuel-related costs, and elevated logistics and distribution costs, against a 2025 quarter that had benefited from the insurance recoveries.
Net finance income totalled $368.94 million, a 112% increase from $173.86 million in the same period last year. Financial income rose to $482.56 million (2025: $312.11 million) on larger cash balances, and financial expenses fell to $113.62 million (2025: $138.25 million). The Company also booked a foreign exchange gain of $82.46 million, compared with a loss of $2.14 million in 2025.
Profit before taxation for the nine months was $8.91 billion, up 37% from $6.49 billion in 2025. Third-quarter profit before taxation was $1.78 billion (2025: $3.23 billion).
The taxation charge for the nine months rose 6% to $1.76 billion (2025: $1.66 billion). Net profit for the nine months was therefore $7.15 billion, a 48% increase from the $4.83 billion reported in 2025. Third-quarter net profit was $1.40 billion (2025: $2.29 billion), down 39%.
Earnings per share for the nine months amounted to $8.40 (2025: $5.68), while earnings per share for the quarter totalled $1.65 (2025: $2.70). The twelve-month trailing EPS was $9.67, and the number of shares used in these calculations was 851,136,591.
